Message from the returning CEO
Returning to the office in a part-time capacity this past month, I have reflected on the important work the team has delivered this past year. Built upon the effectiveness and successes of SECCCA, the last 12 months have demonstrated the tremendous commitment of all involved as action is taken to address the challenges and opportunities climate change presents.
I would firstly like to congratulate Simon Woodland on being elected as our new President of our Management Committee at our recent AGM. I am sure Simon will lead SECCCA with the same enthusiasm and professionalism that he has shown as a member of the committee throughout this year.
I would also like to pass on my sincere thanks to Emily Boucher as outgoing President. Emily has been an insightful and strong leader for our association and has overseen many of the positive changes we have introduced and while also ensuring an excellent governance as we continue to deliver key projects for our members.
I would also like to congratulate the Andrews Government on winning a historic third term at the election on the weekend. SECCCA looks forward to continuing to work in partnership with the returned Government on the important task of addressing climate change in our shared communities.
Looking ahead SECCCA will of course continue our key projects including our work on building the communities’ resilience to climate change and developing a net zero emissions pathway for the southeast in conjunction with GSEM.
I am looking forward to a full return and I can’t wait to see SECCCA’s next achievements.
